Learn the tips and tricks to better communication with Shirley Taylor!
Over the last few decades, the world and everything in it has changed enormously. Hairstyles changed. Fashions changed. Even cartoon characters evolve over time. But there’s still one major area of our lives where so many people are stuck in the past. This is something that billions of people are doing every day – and it happens when people put their fingers on the keyboard to write!
Former secretary from the UK, Shirley is now an international author of many communication and business writing books. In this fun and interactive session, she will take a look at communication styles over different eras, and how so much has changed, yet so much has not changed.
All participants will be able to relate to the insights and humorous stories that Shirley shares. While encouraging participants to embrace change as our world becomes even more high-tech, Shirley will encourage everyone to “prove you are human” in more ways than one, especially when you write!
Don’t miss this lively, interactive virtual session with Shirley.

Speaker, Trainer, Author
Shirley has always been curious about the way people communicate. So when the opportunity came, she surprised herself by accepting a job at the other side of the world, in Singapore.
Quickly discovering the challenges of communicating across cultures, Shirley then began her journey of helping others to communicate more effectively, especially in the workplace. Her passion eventually led her to start writing books for international publisher Pearson. Since then, Shirley has written 12 books, establishing herself as a leading authority in modern business writing and communication.
After also living in Bahrain and Toronto, Shirley returned to Singapore in 2002 and set up her own training company. With a life-long passion for learning, Shirley joined Asia Professional Speakers Singapore and found her own tribe, eventually becoming APSS President 2011-12. She then served on the Board of the Global Speakers Federation for 5 years, and was proud to be appointed as GSF President 2017-18.
After a journey that has taken her from secretary in Sheffield to global speaker in Singapore, Shirley has recently put her collaboration and leadership lessons into her new book Connecting The Dots To Inspire The Leader In You, due for publication in August 2020 by Marshall Cavendish International.
She looks forward to many more collaborations as she continues her journey traveling and speaking around the world.
