My name is Jesper Svenningsen, and I am the new Executive Director (ED) of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (NordCham). As internal transition happens, I am delighted to reach out and introduce myself and some of my thoughts related to the future of NordCham.
NordCham exists because of its members. That is why our first priority is to remain highly relevant to you by bringing first-hand knowledge of the professional climate, having open communication with members and implementing creative solutions. NordCham will continue to build a strong business community and to connect Nordic and local businesses for their mutual benefit. Our signature events, partnerships with key local authorities, the Nordic embassies and other chambers locally and regionally make us an important player that will continue to make a difference to you and your business.
Together with rest of the NordCham team, Maan and Kat, and with our dynamic Board members, we are currently working on identifying priorities for NordCham going forward – and you’ll hear more about these initiatives as we roll them out in the months to come.
You may have already received and responded to our survey last week on how we can help you and your company during this challenging time. If not, I kindly ask you to do so now via this link https://my.surveypal.com/NordCham-Flash-Business-Impact-Survey. Insights from this survey will help define the future topics and right speakers.
One of the legacies of our outgoing ED, Joona Selin, is the fantastic events he has arranged, and we want to thank him for his great work done over the last 7 years!
The integration and display of the Nordic values, mindset and cultures – Happiness, Innovation, Sustainability, Equality, Social Responsibility and Education – will remain to be a big part of our DNA moving forward.
2020 Calendar of Events
We will introduce a number of smaller and more tailor-made events with themes based on above. Online events are something we believe will add value to our members, even when the situation has normalized. We had 2 back-to-back online events just this Wednesday. The first online event with topic on latest status of the COVID-19 with 130 participants despite 2-day notice! Our Advisory partner, PSA Philippines Consultancy, shared and answered questions on global and local status, actions and responses to this pandemic. The second online event was a member-only event on “How to successfully work from home” was done in cooperation with several chambers in the region. Expect more online events with similar themes related to #BusinessAsUnusual over the next few weeks.
Finally, I want to mention, that we will work on a stronger Social Media profile with content that will benefit our members, partners and sponsors, and attract new ones. We encourage you to follow our Facebook page and LinkedIn page.
Please do reach out to me on email@example.com for further elaboration or comments to above. I am looking forward to meet you personally in near future.
