Dear Members and Friends of NordCham,
Welcome to this first edition of “Update from the Executive Director” – status on the activities and priorities that the NordCham team has been and is working on.
It has now been 1½ months since the Enhanced Community Quarantine was implemented, the same day as I started in my role as Executive Director for NordCham. We all have to deal with a new way of working and doing our daily routines, and we can only guess what the “new normal” will be like.
From NordCham´s side, we have embraced the new reality of Social Distancing and uncertainty on when we can do physical events again – our strategy is clear – We want to provide even more value to all of you by engaging you, listening to your current issues and trying to help you – using Virtual Events with dynamic and interactive sessions featuring highly relevant topics and speakers.
In April alone we had 16 events with 800+ participants! To me, this, and the many positive messages our team has received related to the events, is a clear message that this is indeed providing a lot of value for all of you – and hence it is something we will continue to do. A big thank you to all of the Speakers and to all of you for joining, gaining new inspiration, and supporting NordCham.
To provide insights on various important themes and matters means that we are offering quite a number of Virtual Events per week. It also means that we are sending you more emails than before.
We have recently changed from sending individual event information to 1 bundled event mail per day. The mail contains the Last Call and events for upcoming weeks. You can sign up for any of them at your convenience.
This Community Update is reaching close to 4000 recipients and our Facebook page is Liked and Followed by several thousand. This means significant exposure and can create great opportunities for all of us. We would love to feature more member stories moving forward, so please contact us if you would like to be a featured member.
Members and the memberships are the foundation of any Chamber, and I want to thank all of our Members for the support you provide us. THANK YOU!
We are still working to improve and visualize the benefits of being a member of NordCham, including member categories. More on this to follow in May.
NordCham may not be the biggest Chamber in the Philippines, but we want to be seen as the most dynamic and engaging Chamber. Do reach out to us and let us help you and your company overcome the current and future challenges – no issues are too small or too big.
We have increased cooperation with other Chambers both domestically and regionally. The intention is to help each other to support our members. There are formalized Event planning and sharing of ideas. From NordCham side I am happy to facilitate and help you to connect with interesting companies or organizations in the region via the joint Chambers.
The challenging situation related to COVID-19 will stay with us for a while. We are aware that many of you may have losses and that some may even be fighting for the survival of your businesses and for helping your employees. For many of us, the added mental stress of this uncertain situation and future and of being separated from friends and family is not easy to handle.
For those of you who have spare time/capacity/resources, if there is ever a time to reach out to a fellow chamber member to ask if you can be of help, that time is now.
Let’s try our best as a community to inspire and help each other!
