This internship role is working directly for and with the Executive Director of NordCham. The role will work on various tasks as per below description, all which are expected to have a high impact for NordCham and at the same time provide the intern with a lot of learnings applicable for the future.

Member Acquisition

  • Lead generation by researching Nordic companies or individuals doing business in the Philippines.
  • Update CRM system with new contacts, including based on business cards from Executive Director
  • Initiate first contact on behalf of the Executive Director using template email in CRM system

Advocacy work

  • Research on relevant updates from the Philippine government related to selected industry sectors.
  • Research on relevant updates from the EU Commission in the Philippines related to selected industry sectors.
  • Research on relevant updates from the Asian Development Bank in the Philippines related to selected industry sectors.
  • Compile reports based on above to be used internally in the team, for members and for Social Media and other public venues.

The NordCham report on Doing Business in the Philippines 2024 – work planned for Q1 and Q2

Expected 50 pages digital and hardcopy report on Doing Business in the Philippines from a Nordic perspective. The result is expected to be a report to promote NordCham and the business partners, as well as doing business in the Philippines. The work is done in collaboration with the Executive Director and external consultant.

Tasks include:

  • Research on Doing Business in the Philippines using surveys, interviews and online sources 
  • Make reports or articles based on information gathered.
  • Collect sponsored articles from members.
  • Collect statements from relevant organizations.
  • Help to make the overall report layout.

The NordCham Sustainability Report 2024 – work planned for Q2, Q3, and Q4

Expected 100 pages digital and hardcopy report on Nordic and Philippine Sustainability with focus on promoting Sustainability in general and NordCham business partners via their efforts and actions. Inspired by the Swedish Chamber in India. The work is to be done in collaboration with the Executive Director, NordCham Team members, the NordCham Sustainability Committee and an external consultant.

Tasks include:

  • Research on general Sustainability in the Nordic countries and the Philippines, Sustainability efforts by members and Sustainability actions by NordCham using surveys, interviews and online research.
  • Make reports or articles based on information gathered.
  • Collect sponsored articles from members.
  • Collect statements from relevant organizations.
  • Help to make the overall report layout.

Others:

  • Proactive update of member information in CRM system by contacting the members one by one based on priority list
  • Ad hoc tasks can be expected

Practical information

  • The role is mainly based on Work From Home, however regular meetings or joining selected events in Metro Manila can be expected. Office facilities at 8 Rockwell can be used, just like access to co-working space throughout Metro Manila can be assigned.
  • Work time is 8 hours and is expected to be rendered between 9 and 5pm on weekdays only.
  • The intern is expected to be proactive, good at time management and able to work independently. Minimum committed period for internship is 3 months, however 6 or more months will be prioritized. Remuneration of 5000 PHP / month and pre-approved expenses will be reimbursed.
