NordCham Philippines Attends the 12th Asian Development Bank Business Opportunities Fair 2024
NordCham Philippines attended the 12th Asian Development Bank (ADB) Business Opportunities Fair (BOF), held from October 9 to 10, 2024, at ADB Headquarters in Manila. The event marked the second in-person BOF since the pandemic, offering a vital platform for businesses, suppliers, consultants, and civil society organizations to explore procurement and partnership opportunities for ADB-financed projects across various sectors.
Representing NordCham Philippines at the event were Maan Yu, Business Partnerships and Events Manager, and Knaebel Munda, Administration Officer.
The ADB BOF has established itself as a premier networking forum, bringing together professionals from ADB member countries in sectors such as energy, transport, water, urban development, climate change, agriculture, environment, finance, health, and education. It provided an excellent opportunity for NordCham Philippines to engage with industry peers, establish connections with ADB sector specialists, and gain insights into business opportunities in ADB-funded projects.
Throughout the event, NordCham Philippines and other participants benefited from presentations and engagements with speakers on critical topics, including procurement procedures, project management, and consulting opportunities. The BOF highlighted how to qualify for ADB-financed contracts, prepare competitive bids and proposals, and explore areas for collaboration with fellow participants.
Key takeaways from the fair included discovering the strategic benefits of ADB-financed projects, gaining first-hand information on current and upcoming opportunities, understanding ADB’s procurement policies and procedures, and learning about the latest updates in the market. These insights equipped participants with the tools to better position themselves for future contracts, improve their competitiveness, and explore potential partnerships.
