Vibrant Nordic Traditions, Cuisine, and Spirit Shine at the Nordic Midsummer Feast 2024
On 29 June 2024, the Nordic Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (NordCham Philippines) successfully hosted the Nordic Midsummer Feast at The Atrium at Enderun, McKinley Hill, Taguig. The event was a delightful celebration of Nordic traditions, bringing together families and friends for a day filled with joy, food, and engaging activities.
The event was a vibrant display of Nordic culture, featuring delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a host of fun-filled activities for all ages. The festive atmosphere was complimented by colorful Midsummer decorations, creating a lively and welcoming environment. Attendees participated in various games and activities, embodying the spirit of Midsummer and providing entertainment for everyone.
One of the highlights was the traditional dance and song, Små grodorna (Swedish for "The Little Frogs"). Participants danced around the maypole, illustrating the body parts that frogs lack, namely "ears" (öron) and "tails" (svansar).
Attendees also engaged in a series of entertaining games such as the "Find the Pin" game, where participants scoured the event space to locate hidden pins. The classic "Bring Me" game saw attendees racing to bring specific items to the host, adding to the lively spirit of the event.
A spirited drinking contest for both men and women added a competitive edge to the festivities, with participants vying for prizes.
Participants eagerly anticipated the raffle draw, which featured enticing prizes including Two (2) tickets for the Manila Viking Party, a Nespresso machine from Swebest, Sunday Brunch buffet for two (2) at The Pantry, Dinner Buffet for two (2) at The Pantry, both from Dusit Thani Manila, and a ₱20,000 worth of Gift Certificate from Nuuk Taal Lake.
In addition to the festive fun, the event also offered valuable networking opportunities. Guests mingled with fellow business partners from the Nordic community, forging new connections and strengthening existing relationships.
