NordCham Philippines President Bo Lundqvist Joins Launch of First KONE Academy in the Country

On 22 July 2025, Bo Lundqvist, President of NordCham Philippines, attended the official opening of the country’s first KONE Academy in Mandaluyong City.

The Academy is KONE’s first dedicated training center in the Philippines and aims to support the country’s growing need for skilled professionals in the elevator and escalator industry. It plays a key role in preparing workers for the demands of urban development and smart city projects across the country.

Currently, the facility trains 620 professionals each year, with plans to increase its capacity to 800 by 2027. KONE is targeting to certify 4,400 specialists by 2030 through various development programs, including apprenticeships for fresh graduates and leadership training for future operations heads.
