Last March 11, 2022, the Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (NordCham Philippines) and ITD World partnered for an online event to discuss the cause of work friction in businesses and organizations. Senior Principal Consultant KC Yan, the speaker from the ITW World, specified that “Future-forward A3W3E3-some work design” is the holistic approach that organizations need to consider to ensure employees are responsive and proactive.

According to KC Yan, this means that there are already sudden trends and changes that we can already feel. However, we cannot deny the existing challenges that come with change, as he believes it needs further research for organizations to understand the new trends. For instance, the arrival of digital culture in businesses amidst the pandemic has increased the demand for technology, making it the driving factor for a business to function. Not all organizations have the adequate resources to keep up with this new trend, such that leaders need to look for alternatives that will help them cope in this situation.

 

In addition to that, organizations today do not function in a hierarchical order but rather in an egalitarian manner. The manner is crucial for workforce development, considering that employees are what constitutes a workforce. Today, the bottom-up approach in the workplace shows how organizations value their people. This type of culture is needed as it empowers and strengthens the relationships with one another. And creating a healthy environment is an important step towards growth and development because, in an organizational level, collective action should always take place to ensure the future of your work.
